Kunos have just confirmed 3 new cars for Update 0.9 of Assetto Corsa Evo (ACE) ; one Race Car and two Road Cars :

  1. Audi R8 LMS GT2

  1. Audi R8 V10 Performance Quattro

  1. Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit R (Type A)

Having backed ACE from its Early Access launch -and remaining optimistic for the title- I am starting to feel they're trying a little too hard to match Gran Turismo 7.

GT7 is also drip-feeding its Players with small clusters of content, such as the 4 recent 'niche cars' added to the title, and based on Social Media activity I'm not sure the response is particularly positive.

But back to Assetto Corsa Evo - and with release 0.9 so close to 1.0, I can't help wondering if we should be expecting a considerable amount more content this time around.

The Sim Racing communitys' oft-repeated and keenly awaited Free Roam mode was shown within the 8th E.A. Release in an early Early Access Road Map (shown below), as well as 100 Vehicles by V1.0 :

And by SIRA's relatively rapid counting there are around 68 cars at current V0.8 - with V0.9 that will increase to 71 suggesting that something like a further 29 Cars could be expected for V1.0 (from that admittedly early EA Road Map above).

Notably, no new tracks have yet been mentioned for the next release.

While I do understand how Games Development goals and timelines shift (having been in that Industry for a rather long time now) this latest 0.9 release does appear somewhat hollow - at least at this moment.

I'm certainly hopeful we have a few more content surprises from Kunos before the 0.9 update appears.
