Trak Racer bought by Corsair

Founded in Australia 2008, Trak Racer -a "a global designer and manufacturer of sim racing and flight simulation cockpits, seats, monitor stands, motion systems and accessories" has been bought by California-based Corsair, following their acquisition of Fanatec in September 2024.
This already feels like something of a seismic shift within the Simulation Industry, with smaller Sim Racing companies being acquired by larger Electronics firms.
The combination of Fanatec covering the Electronics side of Sim Gaming, with Trak Racer covering the Physical side (Cockpits, Seats, Mounts, Haptics) feels like an extremely shrewd and smart move from Corsair.
Corsairs' statement mentions that Trak Racer products will be sold more widely through Corsairs' existing retail and distribution network: given that Trak Racer just 2 months ago unveiled 15 or so new products at the Sim Racing Expo Charlotte in May, it may be that the Trak Racer name will not be changed anytime soon, just as with Fanatec.

To add further complexity to this story, it was only last month that Fanatec announced a licensing partnership with Nissan: Steering Wheels were specifically mentioned, so could a Nissan Z Nismo wheel or - more excitingly - Nissan e-4ORCE 05 (GEN3 Evo) wheel be on the way?
Back to the subject at hand however, and SIRA is interested in what may happen with overlapping products across the Fanatec and Trak Racer brands ; such as similar Cockpits currently on sale :
Of course it's not just Sim Racing products that Trak Racer brings into the mix here; Flight Simulation is also another fast-growing category which Trak Racer covering these bases very well already - I hadn't seen their Airbus TR550 cockpit, which looks great!
And of course, Trak Racer have their upcoming TRZ Motorbike frame releasing around October time:
On top of the Trak Racer acquisition, I hadn't realised that Elgato and Origin PC were 2 further brands now owned by Corsair.

Exciting times for sure, and further proof that Sim Racing continues to grow at a fast pace!
