'GTR – FIA GT Racing Game' is a PC-only title simulating the 2003 FIA GT Championship, released in 2005.
GTR was the first full title from Swedish developer/publisher SimBin (later Sector3 studios, now KW Studios Ltd.). As the titles' name suggests, the game features GT cars of the era such as the Porsche 911 GT2 + GT3, Ferrari 550 GTS / 575 GTC, Chrysler Viper GTS-R, fan-favourite Lister Storm, and American brute in the forms of the Saleen S7-R and Mosler MT900R.

Track-wise there was a heavily European GT flavour with some rarely-seen tracks such as the Autodromo di Pergusa on Sicily, and Masaryk Circuit at Brno in the Czech Republic. Germanys' Oscherschleben track was a favourite in this and its successor GTR2 title. Later, SimBin would release a 'King of Ovals' add-on pack which included a number of North American Oval tracks such as Recaro Raceway Park and The MoTec Mile.
GTR1 (and GTR2) used the gMotor1 engine from -another SIRA favourite of the time- Sports Car GT.
The game was well reviewed at the time, and is highly regarded -including its successor- by Sim Racers as one of the best titles in Sim Racing history.
SimBin renamed themselves to Sector3 in 2014, before being acquired in January 2022 by German automotive parts manufacturer KW Automotive who renamed the the company to KW Studios. KW Studios would go on to create RaceRoom Racing Experience in 2013.
Fun Fact
GTR 3 was planned, but cancelled. Some consider forthcoming title Project Motor Racing as a spiritual successor to the GTR series.
