Project Motor Racing has just shared its Gamescom trailer for the title, revealing yet more about the title - and unleashing plenty of emotion from the Sim Racing community with a not-so-little easter egg!
So what's new in here? Where to start...
Firstly, stunning footage of the Nordschleife in very wet conditions - I believe the first glimpses we've had of weather in PMR, also featuring a stunning vintage 1970 Porsche 917K Le Mans car.
Then the really defining straplines '70 cars 50 years' combined with '10+ Racing Classes' both really emphasise the racecar focus of the title - a refreshing antidote to certain other new titles emphasis on road cars!
'18 scanned locations' is an interesting one, as I had believed that '27 Tracks' was a number previously stated by Straight4Studios ; this could mean 18 locations with 27 track variations, or indeed 18 of the 27 release tracks are scanned examples, but this is to be confirmed.
Tracks revealed within the Trailer include Monza, Donington Park, Bathurst (Mount Panorama), Spa and the aforementioned Nordschleife.
We see plenty of GT3 and GT3LM cars too, a legendary Porsche 911 GT1 and then onto IMSA Hypercars such as the (PMR hero image) Lamborghini SC63 LMDh, Porsche 963 and yes - this years' Sim Racing poster car the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH. So this would appear to suggest that PMR has secured IMSA licensing rights, good stuff.
And finally, a truly special touch here is a remastering of the 'Spa 24 Hrs' Soundtrack score by Stephen Baysted which was composed for the original GTR2 title, and then remixed in Project Cars 1 and 2. This not only raises the emotional level quite a few notches, but is a wonderful nod to the lineage that Project Motor Racing can claim, through the Project Cars series and back to those original GTR and Race series titles we all loved and still cherish to this day.
