SIRA - Project Motor Racing is a Sim Racing title with a keen eye on legacy GT and Sports Cars, for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S Consoles.

PMR is developed by Straight4 - a team headed by Ian Bell and including some key ex-employees of Slightly Mad Studios (Project Cars series) and previous studio Blimey! Games (GTR2, GT Legends) ; so the pedigree is certainly strong here.

The game featured a Career Mode from day one, with modding functionality within the title which is likely to follow the model set by its' sister title Farming Simulator. This allows community content to be uploaded to the Modding Portal and reviewed by an Approval Team (for quality and legality) before being made available to the Public across PC and Console releases.

Official Website: "Replicating the challenge and sensory overload of professional-level race cars with all the uncompromising passion of big-time motorsport, Project Motor Racing blends 20 years’ worth of racing simulator know-how into one unforgettable racing experience."

Official Press Release: "Straight4 Studios and publishers GIANTS Software are proud to announce Project Motor Racing will release on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Built on the mod-friendly GIANTS Engine, Project Motor Racing promises a new benchmark in handling performance. Published by GIANTS Software and developed by Straight4 Studios, Project Motor Racing ignites all the passion, beauty and intensity of professional motorsport.

The racing simulator will hit the track in fall 2025 with 70+ vehicles from 10 racing classes and 27 track layouts. An immersive racing experience will put drivers into the cauldron of a racing cockpit with visible G-forces, heat-haze, braking forces, and dirt, alongside sound design that captures motor racing’s true ferocity.

“True2Track” will allow racers to experience the authenticity of every track with dynamic weather conditions, adaptive racing & drying line, and a 24-hour day/night cycle. Simulation Refined : Project Motor Racing will also feature sim racing’s newest physics engine, built from the ground-up. Running on the GIANTS game engine, it delivers unmatched handling realism at 720Hz, with more natural, non-linear throttle control alongside precise FFB taken directly from the tie rod, and out-of-the-box peripheral optimisation. And with the “Factory Driver Program”, every car’s handling is painstakingly tested and approved by the world’s top racing pros to assure authentic handling precision."

The good

  • Well considered and modelled selection of historical racing cars

  • Solid and highly responsive driving model (tyre temps excepted)

  • Great Audio

  • Career Mode from day 1

  • Modding functionality

The less good

  • Numerous launch issues

  • Graphics Engine not top tier

  • AI has been poor, though now improved

  • Maybe expensive for an unpolished product at full price
