Project CARS 3 (CARS = Community Assisted Racing Simulator) or 'PCARS3' for short, is the third title of 4 in the Project Cars series, releasing on PC (Windows), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2020.
Its gameplay is considerably more 'simcade' than the previous titles (see Fun Fact below) - which may have been due to Slightly Mad Studios being bought out by Codemasters in 2019 (before themselves being acquired by EA in late 2020).
Of note was the lack of pit stops, which ired fans of the previous titles - as well as tyre wear or fuel use.
However, the title packed a considerable amount of content with over 200 cars and 120 tracks/variations, as well as Career and Multiplayer modes.
Success-wise, PCARS3 reached number 5 in the US physical sales chart ; 17 in the UK ; and sold '86% less than' (which SIRA understands to mean '14% of') its predecessors.
Fun Fact
Project Cars 3 was apparently 'created as a spiritual successor to Need for Speed: Shift' - a title which had been developed by Slightly Mad Studios back in 2009.
